Start with the outcome you want
Courtyard and Phygitals both let collectors explore randomized packs and physical collectibles. The useful question is which workflow fits your plan: finding a specific slab, enjoying a random reveal, or selling a card you do not want. We would compare those decisions before comparing headline chase cards.
For a collector who wants a particular Pokémon card, check the cost of buying that exact card first. For someone choosing a mystery pack, compare the full outcome range and the amount they are comfortable spending. Neither platform’s presentation makes a random purchase equivalent to selecting a known card.
Buyback: compare the executable dollars
Courtyard’s Vending Machine guide bases the offer on the revealed card’s fair market value and gives a seven-day acceptance window. It does not establish a universal buyback percentage. Phygitals’ About page describes an 85% buyback; pack-specific offers and promotions can differ. Check the offer shown for your exact product.
A percentage alone cannot select a winner. In an invented example, 90% of a $50 valuation is $45, while 85% of a $60 valuation is $51. These are illustrative offers, not quotes from either operator. Compare the underlying card, the actual amount, expiry and withdrawal costs.
If both platforms valued the same card at $60, an 85% offer would be $51 before fees. If the pack cost $50 and withdrawal cost $2, net proceeds would be $49. The apparent $1 surplus becomes a $1 shortfall. The calculator lets you replace these assumptions with your own figures.
Fees and getting money out
Courtyard’s marketplace guide states 0% peer-to-peer transaction fees. Its withdrawal guide requires identity verification and lists account- and country-dependent payment methods, including bank and eligible card payouts, PayPal and US Venmo. That does not make every payment, conversion or withdrawal free.
Phygitals’ documentation describes USDC-denominated balances. We did not test an account withdrawal or verify a universal payout fee for this comparison. Confirm the method available to your own account and the final amount arriving outside the platform.
A marketplace listing creates a different dependency: another collector must choose to buy. A displayed asking price is not immediately available cash. When comparing a sale with a platform offer, include waiting time and possible price reductions as well as fees.
Shipping: quote the delivered cost
Courtyard advertises worldwide shipping and says processing may take up to 10 business days before carrier transit. Its guide calculates charges by destination, weight and carrier, and says submitted shipment details cannot be edited. Phygitals advertises physical redemption and worldwide shipping; we have not established a fixed, destination-independent delivery time.
For a US collector, request the quote to your actual ZIP code. Record retrieval or handling, postage, tax where applicable, tracking and coverage. A low pack price can become a more expensive way to acquire a modest-value card once delivery is added.
If you intend to hold a card in a vault, read custody and coverage terms separately. Convenience now should not replace understanding how to obtain the card later.
Which should you shortlist?
Shortlist Courtyard if its marketplace selection and documented payout methods match your needs. Shortlist Phygitals if a specific pack pool appeals to you and its exact offer and redemption terms work for your account. We do not declare a universal winner from headline percentages.
Before purchasing, write down the pack cost, a card you would be happy to keep, the common value band and your exit cost. If you cannot fill those fields, ask for the missing detail or compare a direct single. No purchase, withdrawal or shipment was performed for this comparison.
