Did Logan Paul leave PSA for CGC?

A grading-company breakup would make a great headline. The evidence we could verify does not establish one. As of September 22, 2026, we have not located a direct announcement from Logan Paul, PSA or CGC confirming that he has abandoned PSA or signed an exclusive CGC agreement.

There is collector chatter about a move toward CGC. But the timeline has a twist: Paul was already selling CGC-graded Pokémon cards in 2022, and his record-breaking February 2026 Pikachu Illustrator sale involved a PSA 10. A new appearance with a CGC slab would not, by itself, prove a new allegiance.

Where the switch talk appears

In a September discussion on r/CGCCards, a commenter said they had seen another Reddit post suggesting Paul was backing CGC. That is a second-hand account, without the original announcement attached to the comment. It shows the claim is circulating; it does not establish what Paul said, when he said it or whether a commercial agreement exists.

We have not completed an exhaustive count of his recent promotions. “He seems to mention PSA less” and “he has ended a PSA relationship” are different claims, and the latter needs direct evidence.

The timeline: PSA spotlight, CGC sales, then a PSA record

The CGC connection is older than the rumour

CGC’s own 2022 account describes two first-edition Base Set Charizards changing hands from Paul to IslandGrown on Whatnot. Paul signed the holders. That is a documented sale, not a newly announced conversion to CGC.

There is also an easy quotation trap in that article: the enthusiastic comments about CGC’s service come from IslandGrown. They should not be presented as Logan Paul’s endorsement.

The PSA story did not stop at the WrestleMania necklace

Guinness recorded the $16,492,000 sale of Paul’s PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator in February 2026. The figure includes buyer’s premium; it should not be described as his personal take-home proceeds.

More recently, CollectiblesNews reported in August that Paul revealed PSA grades for the Pikachu and Jigglypuff removed from a CoroCoro sheet. That report is evidence of recent PSA-related content, although it cannot tell us what he may have decided afterward. We have not independently verified the original vlog.

So what actually happened?

The defensible answer is that the public record we found shows activity involving both grading companies. It does not establish a clean move from one to the other, a falling-out, a cancelled contract or a paid replacement deal. We cannot supply a reason for a split that has not been confirmed.

A direct statement could change that assessment. Its wording would matter: praising a grader, choosing one for a submission, becoming a paid ambassador and agreeing to exclusivity are separate developments. An edited clip or a slab in the background cannot settle all four.

Should collectors follow him to CGC?

Our view: choose a grading service around your cards and your purpose. For a personal collection, presentation and total cost may be decisive. For a planned sale, check completed transactions for the exact card, language, version and grade rather than assuming a celebrity’s choice will lift every slab.

The same applies to a graded-card mystery pack. Read the actual pool and valuation basis; a celebrity-owned trophy card is not a useful comparison for an unrelated pull. A grading-company headline does not change your pack’s published odds.

We compare US and European submission prices, turnaround estimates and practical trade-offs in our card-grading guide. That is the next step if this debate has you reconsidering where to submit.
