European access is not European storage
The established services in this comparison mainly hold cards in the United States. An international shipping option can make a US vault usable for a European collector, but does not move the collection into the EU. Switzerland and the UK are also separate customs destinations from the EU.
Buying in the US and holding there
If you buy through a marketplace and keep the card in its vault, you can postpone the physical shipment until you want the collection at home. Compare the cost of a consolidated shipment with multiple small withdrawals. Ask whether cards from separate purchases can ship together and whether each item has its own retrieval charge.
Sending a European collection to a US vault
This adds inbound international postage and a second border crossing when the cards return. Keep ownership records and shipping documentation, and ask the carrier or customs authority how your specific shipment should be declared. Do not assume US storage makes the eventual delivery tax-free.
Our practical selection
Start with PSA for a clearly published international outbound shipping schedule, Fanatics Collect for auction and marketplace use, and COMC for eligible raw-card inventory. Confirm your country directly with each provider before sending. We have not included a Europe-based service as operational simply because its name contains “European vault”.

Frequently asked questions
Are these card vaults physically in Europe?
The verified facility locations in this comparison are in the United States. The flags identify physical custody, not the countries in which every service is available. Collector Crypt’s current public guide does not identify one universal custody country.
Can I sell through PSA Vault from an EU country?
PSA’s consignment country list is narrower than its international shipping coverage. Cyprus appears on the published list; many other EU countries do not. Check the current list for your country before choosing PSA for its selling features.
How much does PSA charge to return a card to Europe?
PSA publishes $31.99 for other international shipments, plus its per-card withdrawal charge. Early removal can add a further per-card fee. Destination charges are separate from the provider’s shipping price.
Can I combine cards into one international shipment?
Consolidation can reduce repeated base shipment charges, but each provider has its own item limits and retrieval fees. PSA’s published shipment schedule covers up to 50 cards. Request a complete multi-card quote before comparing providers.
Does Alt support international withdrawals?
Alt directs international withdrawal requests through support. Its published two-business-day processing allowance precedes carrier transit; obtain a destination-specific shipping quote and confirm release timing for your cards.
